The Garden of Crumbling Delights:
Photographers' Bios

Growing up near the end of the cold war in New Haven, CT, Christopher Beauchamp spent his childhood digging underground fallout shelters. This developed into a passion for cave exploration and investigating the often overlooked subterranean environments beneath major cities. His efforts to document these unusual spaces led him to pursue a career in professional photography. Most recently his photos of underground structures were published in Smithsonian Magazine. His website is at christopherbeauchamp.com.

Bryan Papciak & Jeff Sias are two of the four founding members of Handcranked Film Projects: a Boston-area art and film collaborative. Handcranked Film was conceived as an informal cooperative whose members share experiences and resources in the production of various film-as-art projects. They are also active in education, teaching at Rhode Island School of Design and the Art Institute of Boston. Bryan and Jeff are currently collaborating on a feature length film, American Ruins, an unusual road trip through the rapidly vanishing industrial relics and ghost towns of abandoned America. The impetus for American Ruins was Bryan Papciak's 2001 award-winning short film, Met State, set inside an abandoned mental hospital.

Christos Pathiakis is a video artist based in New York City.
